Abstract
A patient¢¥s acceprance of complete dentures is closely ralated to that patient¢¥s "prosthetic attitude". Patient education should help create a positive attitude by informing the patient about the special problems associated with wearing complete dentures, informing the patient of proper oral and denture hygiene. Patient education should also establish the patient¢¥s as well as the dentist¢¥s responsibility in complete denture service. A through patient ed_icatioa program should begin with the initial patient visit and be interwoven through out denture construction. If the dentist can effectively communicate and educate to his d:nture patients, he will be promoting better oral health standards for denture patients, inereased denture comfort, and personal acceptance.
Printed information will acquaint the patient with th-, p3culiarities of his newly acquired restorations and would unquestionably produce a better relationship between the dentist and patient.
